 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Important Notice
      ----------------

1.1 This file contains additional information and changes that is not
available at the time of printing.

1.2 The Aztech Photo Developer supports Compatible-mode only, not ECP or EPP.
As such, please configure your system to Compatible-mode if you are using
      ECP or EPP.

1.3 Windows 95 detection of the internal printer device - In some systems,
detection of the Aztech Photo Developer (Internal) will follow
immediately after the interface card is detected and being setup. As
such, these systems do not need to be restarted like others which do not
behave likewise. Please refer to the installation manual for more
      details.

1.4 If a paper jam is encountered, clear the film path and reset the printer
(or restart the system in the case of the internal model) will help to
solve the problem. Do not try to remove the paper by force. Please refer
to the troubleshooting section in the manual accordingly when handling
      this issue.

1.5 If you are using an external photo printer, your photo printer may
encounter problems with other pass-through devices, Zip drive data
transfers, or software dongles that hook to the parallel port.

Due to the fact that there is no single set of parallel port
specifications accepted across the industry, there are some parallel
port/multi I/O adapters, parallel port peripherals, and software dongles
that are not fully compatible with the photo printer and may cause
unpredictable results when used on the same parallel port connection as
      the photo printer.

If you are experiencing problems with your photo printer, or if you want
to connect other parallel port devices or dongles, it would be best to
add another parallel port to your computer. Most computer stores carry
simple I/O cards that let you easily add a new parallel port. If you plan
to use software dongles on the same parallel port connection as your
photo printer, contact the provider for your dongle before connecting it
to make sure you have a device that is compatible with the photo printer.

1.6 When unloading of film cartridge, it is recommended to depress the top of
the cartridge a bit in order for the cartridge to be released easily.

1.7 Ensure that the cover on the cartridge is closed at all time when the
cartridge is not inserted into the printer.

 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2. Media/Film Identification
      -------------------------

Your media/film cartridge comes with a serial no. that identifies the
specific batch of media/film that you will be using (Refer to the top
side of the cartridge for this serial no.). The Media/Film ID is used to
denote the media's version and sensitivity. For every media/film
cartridge, the serial no. looks as follows:

			DI9-7F005-013B-1-001
                                  ------

Note that the string of underlined numbers associates with a particular
Media/Film ID. In this release, use the following Media/Film ID as
      defined:

The Media/Film ID can be found on the Media/Film cartridge. If not, the
ID update is available on the Media/Film ID update document.
Alternatively, these updates will also be available on our website
(http://www.aztech.com.sg/c&t/) and readme.txt file as shown above.

Before making any printing on the photo printer using the Aztech Photo
Viewer/Aztech DPD-100/200 Driver, make sure that the correct Media/Film
ID is being keyed in accordingly.

 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3. How to key in the Media/Film ID
      -------------------------------

3.1 In the Aztech Photo Viewer application, the initial startup of the
application will prompt a dialog box for setting the Media/Film ID.
Ensure that the Media/Film ID displayed is the correct one that you are
supposed to use. If you have to change the Media/Film ID, just replace
the correct ID into the ID display box and click the OK button. The Set
Media/Film ID function can be activated from the SET MEDIA ID menu
      command.

3.2 To check and set the Media/Film ID for the photo printer driver, go to
the Printer folder and right-click on the photo printer driver to select
the properties option. Select the Set Media ID Tab to activate the Set
Media ID dialog box. Ensure that the Media/Film ID displayed is the
correct one that you are supposed to use. If you have to change the
Media/Film ID, just replace the correct ID into the ID display box and
      click the OK button.

 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
4. Using The Aztech Photo Viewer
      -----------------------------

4.1 This application can be used for both the internal and external DPD
series of photo printers in Windows 95 environment only.

4.2 The system has to be set at least to 16 bit color in order to view the
thumbnails correctly. The maximum number of thumbnails that you can open
      in an album is 99.

4.3 Please refer to the Online Help for the usage of the application. You are
advised to run the Online Help based on the following recommended display
      settings:

	- 16-bit High Color
	- Screen Resolution of 1024 by 768 pixels

4.4 Supports only BMP, PCX, GIF, TGA, TIF and JPG graphic file formats.

4.5 Only uncompressed TIF graphic file format is supported.

4.6 Save image file as BMP file format only.

4.7 Maximum Image Color Depth supported is 16 million colors (24-bits).

4.8 Maximum number of pixels printed is 640x480 (Print area).

4.9 For image size larger than 640x480, scaling will be applied to fit onto
this print area (640x480) with its original aspect ratio retained.

4.10 For image size smaller than 640x480, no scaling will be made and its
original size will be retained on the print area.

4.11 For image size 320x240 (exceptional case), the size will be scaled twice
to 640x480 to fit the maximum print area. This is done in conjunction
with the fact that this particular image size is commonly used by digital
cameras. With the digital camera being a common TWAIN device, there is a
need to custom scale this particular size so that the photo printed out
will fit nicely onto the maximum print area.

4.12 In the viewer application, 16-in-1 printing is only able to be edited by
dragging and dropping. This is the same with that of 4-in-1 printing.

4.13 During film loading session, stopping printing by pressing the ESC button
will take effect only after film loading is done. As such, attempting to
stop printing will always waste one film.

4.14 To import images to the photo viewer using the Digital Camera, select the
Digital Camera from the Select Source menu in the photo viewer
application. Next, go to the Acquire menu to proceed with the connection.

 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
5. Using The Aztech DPD-100/200 Driver
      -----------------------------------

5.1 In the driver installation, Windows 95 CD is needed to install some
Microsoft files needed by the driver.

5.2 The Color Management Utility - This utility is included in the driver to
provide user with the means to manage the color quality of the printed
photos. It also provides user with an utility to input the Media ID
      specific to each media type.

SET MEDIA TYPE: Please check your media ID (on your media cartridge) and
make sure that it is the same as displayed. Everytime when you change
media, please check your media ID. Refer to Section 2 & 3.2 for more
details on setting the Media/Film ID.

PRINT QUALITY CONTROL: This portion of the Color Management Utility sets
the print quality through the following adjustments:

   	(1) Tone Control
   	(2) Saturation
   	(3) Color Match Table
   	(4) Edge Enhancement

5.3 Print Quality Control - Tone Control allows you to adjust the color
contrast of the image. The Non option maintains the original contrast of
the image. The Fixed 20% option increases the contrast of the image by 20
percent. The Manual option offers you advanced contrast settings by
altering values of the graph. The horizontal axis denotes input values
(ie contrast of the original image) and the vertical axis denotes output
values (ie contrast of printed image). Black and white colors are
represented by 0 and 255, with values in between representing mid-tones.
Boxes on the top and bottom of the graph are for high and low input color
values respectively. Boxes to the left and right of the graph are for low
and high output color values respectively.

Saturation Control adjusts the intensity and composition of colors. The
Non option maintains the original color intensities. The Manual option
allows you to adjust the intensity of the colors by specifying the value
in the box provided. For example, a value of 1.3 would mean 1.3 times the
      intensity of the original image.

The Color Match Table adjusts the color balance according to a prefixed
color table of different RGB settings and does not require manual
      adjustment.

Edge Enhancement adjusts the sharpness of the image.

To access the Saturation, Color Match Table and Edge Enhancement Control,
go to the Printer folder and right-click on the photo printer driver to
select the properties option. In the properties option, select the Print
      Quality Tab to proceed.

To access the Tone Control, go to the Printer folder and right-click on
the photo printer driver to select the properties option. In the
properties option, select the Tone Control Tab to proceed.

5.4 The paper size option has been defined into three types:

. 3R-1 3x4 in (True Size) -- It is strongly suggested for all third party
applications to use the "fit to size" function with this option. It is
the true size of our print area, i.e. width: 3 inches, height: 4
inches. This option enables user to get the best result of scaling and
        printing.

. 3R-2 5x6 2/3 in (MS Paint) -- It is a special paper size defined for
640x480 image printed in MS Paint. It is a virtual paper size with
width: 5 inches and height: 6 2/3 inches. This option is used only if
user is using MS Paint to make a print. In this case, please set all
margins to '0' in order to get a nice fit into a page.

. Custom -- With Custom paper option, user can define the paper size by
themselves. For those application without scaling or "fit to size"
function and if the size of the image to be printed is bigger than the
paper size of 3R-1 or 3R-2, the printed photo will be clipped or
totally cannot be printed like MS Paint. In this case, user should use
Custom paper option and define the paper to suitable size to get full
size photo printed. In this way, the Aztech DPD-100/200 Driver can
support any size of photo in any third party applications.

5.5 Installation on Windows 95 OSR2 Platform (Internal) - This version of
Windows 95 will prompt the user for the Driver Installation disk into the
Floppy drive (Go to the specific language if any in the DRIVERS directory
in the CD if the installation comes in the form of CD). After the
installation disk has been inserted or the installation directory been
directed in the CD, click NEXT and follow through the on-screen
instructions to complete the installation of the Aztech DPD-100 Driver.

IMPORTANT: If the file 'FINSTALL.HLP' is prompted and stated not to be
found, ignore the message and TYPE IN the location of the
driver installation disk to proceed (Type in A:\ if the driver
disk comes in floppy assuming your floppy drive is at Drive A.
If the driver installation comes in CD, type in
D:\Drivers\LANGUAGE assuming the CDROM drive is at Drive D and
LANGUAGE means English, Dutch, German, Italy, French or
                 Spanish).

DO NOT GO TO THE BROWSE BUTTON TO LOCATE THE SOURCE IN THIS
                 CASE!

Note that the Windows 95 OSR2 CD will be prompted to install some Windows
95 files needed by the Aztech DPD-100/200 Driver during the installation.

5.6 Printing images from Digital Cameras - If you want to print images taken
from digital camera, please go to the printer folder and right-click on
the photo printer driver to select the properties option. Select the
Print Quality Tab and CHECK the Digital Camera Image Noise Reduction
option. This is to enhance the quality of the printout for images taken
      from digital camera.

                            ---------- The End ----------
